Donations for victims of flood relief

Published by admin on

The Central Govt. Pensioners Welfare Society Chandigarh (CGPWS), representing  retirees from all the Central Govt offices located in and around  Chandigarh, and a prominent member of the Coordination Committee, the CCCGPA,   have done a commendable job of donating Rs 81,300/- to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, for relief of the victims of recent floods in Kerala and other parts of India. The  news of people losing members of their families, their houses  and other worldly belongings was obviously very  disturbing and invoked compassion. The members of CGPWS felt very sympathetic towards  these people in need and voluntarily came forward to donate whatever they could monetarily.  Some of the members of the Society went a step further and motivated even the non-members to join in this noble cause and could collectively generate this amount of Rs. 81,300/-.

Kudos to the Society and to all the members who joined in this noble cause. This commendable gesture may please be brought to the notice of all other constituent members of the Coordination Committee and may pleased be published in the Pensioners’ Coordinator also  and be given a wide publicity that it deserves.
